The Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) program will no longer cover vaccinations for
children covered under private insurance. This change has resulted in cancellation of the Shots Across Texas vaccination campaign for Montgomery County this year.
Program Changes
The Texas Department of State Health Services sent a letter to school officials informing them of changes to the TVFC program.
Who can get TVFC vaccines?
All health clinics and provider offices that use state vaccines are now required to use the TVFC Eligibility Form to determine who can get vaccinated. Continue reading
I have private insurance?
Call the number on the back of your insurance card to ask about immunization benefits. Customer service representatives can tell you which vaccines are covered and how much they cost.
If your private insurance plan does not cover required immunizations, you may be eligible to receive vaccines that are not covered from your local health department or federally-qualified health center. Continue reading
